Demonstration of 8 × 12.5 Gbit/s All-Optical OFDM System with an Arrayed Waveguide Grating and Waveform Reshaping

Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a new waveform reshaping technique to restore the orthogonality of the all-optical OFDM subchannels generated by an AWG-based MUX/DEMUX. The proposed scheme effectively restores the orthogonality and drastically improves the BER performance from 10−4 up to 10−6.
