Abstract

A new technique for pump-noise transfer cancellation in parametric wavelength converters is described. The method relies on simultaneous detection of the pump and the idler waveforms, and matched digital signal processing. A 4 dB improvement in receiver performance is demonstrated experimentally for the conversion of the conventional 10 Gbps OOK signal.
