Distributed fast optical packet power equalization for efficient WDM packet switched networks

Abstract

We evaluate a distributed optical packet equalization scheme based on automatic gain control semiconductor optical amplifiers in a packet ring network. In presence of packet power discrepancies, we demonstrate that BER floors can be removed.
