Abstract

We present a novel method to suppress Rayleigh backscattering and fiber dispersion in WDM-PON based on reflective electro-absorption modulator by changing the upstream signal format. 10-Gb/s and 20-Gb/s uplinks over 70-km and 35-km fiber have been demonstrated by dicode and modified duobinary modulation, respectively.
