Abstract

The performance of a decision-aided algorithm to mitigate the nonlinear cross-polarization in dispersion-managed polarization-multiplexed BPSK/QPSK systems is studied experimentally and numerically. Quality factor improvement depends on the ratio between the linear and nonlinear noise. The upper bound on the improvement is 0.9 dB.
