Abstract

We present simultaneous mode and wavelength conversion over wavelengths from 1570 nm to 1610 nm based on intermodal difference frequency generation in a periodically poled lithium niobate ridge waveguide. A conversion efficiency of -10.7 dB is observed owing to the high quadratic nonlinearity.
