Highly Reliable and Large-Scale Optical Circuit Switch for Intra-Datacentre Networks

Abstract

We propose a novel optical circuit switch architecture offering high reliability and high capacity. The proposed scheme substantially reduces the annual downtime of the switch with little additional hardware cost. Its transmission performance is experimentally confirmed by constructing part of a 1,536×1,536 Optical Switch.
