Trench Assisted Multi-Core Fiber with Large Aeff over 100 μm2 and Low Attenuation Loss

Abstract

By applying trench index profile, we successfully developed multi-core fibers with large Aeff over 100 μm2 and attenuation loss as low as 0.2 dB/km at 1550 nm. The low cross-talk properties were also confirmed.
