Microbending-induced Crosstalk Increase in Heterogeneous Multi-Core Fiber

Abstract

Inter-core crosstalk of a heterogeneous multi-core fiber was experimentally observed to increase more than 10 dB by applying microbending to the fiber. The increase was described theoretically based on bending-radius dependence of the crosstalk.
