Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate an all-silica microfiber Bragg grating for high-temperature sensing by focused ion beam machining in a tapered fiber probe with a sharp profile. This 11-period FBG is ultra-tiny with deep grooves and high efficiency. Its temperature sensitivity is ~ 22 pm/°C near the wavelength of 1570 nm.
