Electronic Dispersion Pre-compensation using a Directly Modulated Laser at 10.7-Gb/s

Abstract

A novel electronic dispersion pre-compensation scheme for a directly modulated laser at 10.7-Gb/s is described and experimentally demonstrated for 202 km transmission with a required OSNR of 20.3 dB at a bit error ratio of 10−3.
