Laser beam self-focusing under coherent population trapping conditions

Abstract

The concepts of atomic coherence and interference have been the basis for many interesting developments in modern optics (see, e.g., ref. 1). In this report we discuss self-focusing of a laser beam under coherent population trapping (CPT) conditions and possible applications of this effect.
