Femtosecond and picosecond time resolved analysis of rotation of liquid crystals about their long axis

Abstract

A femtosecond and picosecond time resolved optical Kerr effect experiment has been performed to characterize individual rotation of liquid crystal about their long axis. A fast optical nonlinearity is associated to this motion.
