Abstract

Bloch oscillations (BO) of an electronic wavepacket in a homogeneous electric field have been observed in GaAs/AlGaAs superlattices by four-wave mixing (FWM), THz-emission experiments and transmittive-electro-optic sampling (TEOS).1 In this paper we study the coherent dynamics of the oscillating wave-packet under different excitation conditions. In detail we discuss the existence of higher harmonics of BO in the third-order interband polarization.
