Cold atoms inside an optical cavity

Abstract

An optical medium consisting of nearly resonant two level atoms placed in a cavity exhibits interesting phenomena of nonlinear optics and quantum optics.

We have undertaken theoretical and experimental studies of a probe beam interacting with this medium.
