Noninversion amplification possibility in laser crystals

Abstract

We propose a theoretical analysis of non-inversion amplification possibility in different active media, such as alkaline and earth alkaline metals, dielectric crystals. For this purpose we investigated a scheme with external electromagnetic field that creates coherence between two closely spaced operating levels due to the transitions via continuum. Prominence is given to dielectric laser crystals' application for experimental investigation of the scheme proposed.
