Abstract

Trigonal laser crystals with Ca-Gallogermanate structure (La3Ga5SiO14 space group P321) have attracted attention because of their potential applications as laser hosts for transition-metal and lanthanide activators (1.2,3). In this work we present the optical properties of the Cr3+(0.1 at%),Nd3+ (5 at%) codoped sample and the stimulated emission properties of Nd3+ ions pumped by flashlamps.
