Abstract
Localized structures in nonlinear-optical passive and active (laser) systems are an object of intensive current investigations because of their scientific interest and potential for applications [1-3]. Variety of localized optical structures – “the optical autosolitons” is especially rich in dissipative bistable systems. For lasers, bistability may be realized with using of intracavity saturable absorber; in the case of a wide-aperture laser such localized structures are “the laser autosolitons” [4]. In this paper we review the recent studies of laser autosolitons with different geometrical dimensionality D = 1, 2 and 3, and present some new results of the autosolitons’ investigations.
