Suppression of Chaos By Tracking Unstable Steady-States in Systems with Large-Amplitude Periodic Modulation

Abstract

Much attention has been devoted recently to the possibility of converting deterministic chaos appearing in nonlinear systems to regular behavior. The basic ideas are either stabilization of an unstable periodic orbit embedded in chaos, which is performed by feedback or nonfeedback techniques /1/, or stabilization of an unstable steady-state, which has been performed, in particular, by means of feedback techniques /2/.
