Abstract

In recent years, the technique of the fluorescence decay time distribution analysis has been successfully applied in a number of cases to studies of heterogeneous photophysical systems such as fluorophores in viscous media, vesicles, membranes, and proteins. The unique feature of the decay time distribution analysis of fluorescence kinetics is that it provides an opportunity to study systems on the model-free basis and thus makes it possible to discriminate between different decay scenarios.
