Abstract

Spatio-temporal phenomena associated with the vectorial degrees of freedom of the electric field in an isotropic laser cavity can he described, close to threshold, by a Vector Complex Ginzburg Landau Equation (VCGLE) [1]. Different configurations with space and time dependent polarization parameters can be found. Weak coupling between the circularly polarized components of the field results in preference for light linearly polarized in an arbitrary direction.
