Abstract

A challenging problem of realization of high-repetition rate small-scale soft X-ray lasers is now brought very close to its solution. A review of the recent theoretical and experimental activity in this field will be given. New results and prospects for the realization of efficient short-pulse driven soft X-ray lasers will be discussed.
