Abstract
If a highly intense short laser pulse interacts with a target, hot electrons are generated in the absorption process. The deceleration of these hot electrons in the solid target causes hard X-ray emission via Bremsstrahlung. Since the hot electrons are produced only during the intense laser pulse, it is expected, that the temporal duration of the hard X-ray signals is similar to the laser pulse width.
