Abstract
The paper considers the problem of obtaining the excited nuclear states (including the case of gamma-laser) due to the direct Coulomb excitation by last electrons of optical laser plasma. The problem of the attainment of excited nuclear states is considered to be crucial in the development of a gamma-laser. Of pivotal importance this problem becomes when one is attempting to develop such laser for the hard range of frequencies on the base of a system of short-lived nuclei, in which case the relative broadening of the outline of gamma transition line is fundamentally avoidable.
