Abstract

For a selected number of examples the application of ultrafast spectroscopy on small molecules will be presented. It allows to investigate the dynamics of these spezies after excitation with laser pulses of less than 80 fs duration with high temporal and via Fourier analysis spectral resolution. Information, never before obtained by stationary spectroscopy, can be revealed and, hence, the complimentarity of these two approaches is clearly observable.
