Vortex creatiuon/annihilation in lasers

Abstract

Vortices (phase gradient singularities) are typical structures of laser fields. We investigate, how vortices appear or disappear in laser fields. Different experimental situations have been investigated: 1) A single vortex can be created by motion of a vortex out of a dark region into a bright region.
