Abstract

Solitoli optical pulse propagation lias been extensively studied both theoretically and experimentally for homogeneous media with Kerr1 and resonant2 types of nonlin earity. It has been recently predicted that soliton transmission in non linear periodical structureis possible within the Bragg frequency forbidden gap band , so-called gap solitons3,4. We consider theoretically the propagation and interaction of the gap solitons in a resonance Bragg grating with an inhomogeneously broadened spectral line, as well as oscillating zoomeron-like pulses interacting in a deformed structure.
