Abstract
Optical Parametric Oscillators (OPO) are natural candidates to study the relations between quantum fluctuations, pattern formation and spatio-temporal dynamics. From a quantum mechanical point of view, OPO are known to generate non-classical states of light such as squeezed light. From a classical point of view, interactions between diffraction and OPO nonlinearities are predicted to cause the formation of spatial transverse patterns [1].
