Squeezing and Quantum Chaos

Abstract

As a rule, in the experiments on generation of squeezed states, a great number of photons are involved into a nonlinear interaction. In this case, often semiclassical approximation is applied to describe the generation of squeezed states. Already during rather long time it is known that light squeezing is enhanced near bifurcation points between different dynamical regimes. The reason for such enhancing consists in a strong diverging of one of the field quadrature component and corresponding squeezing of another one at the vicinity of instability threshold. However, all papers devoted to the study of the enhanced squeezing due to the appearance of dynamical instabilities in optical systems dealt with the integrable or near integrable systems with regular dynamics.
