Quantum Cryptography Using Frequency Modulation of Weak Light Pulses

Abstract

We report a new method of quantum cryptography using frequency modulation of a strongly attenuated laser diode operating at 1550 nm, and a new protocol for exchanging a key. The advantage is in the high experimental simplicity of the system.
