Abstract

Harnessing the coherent interaction of light and matter is expected to play a key role for future quantum computation, communication and metrology. Over the past decades, there has been great progress in optical quantum state control of a broad range of systems, such as electron spins, free molecules or trapped atoms [1]. Here, we present the coherent quantum state manipulation of free electrons in an ultrafast electron microscope [2].
