Abstract

Technology of photonic crystal (PhC)-based microcircuits can be greatly simplified, if the control on optical responses of different elements can be achieved by means of their post-synthesis processing. This approach assumes exploitation of surface modes. Hybrid optical materials consisting of series-connected metallic plasmonic and dielectric photonic crystals represent prospective candidates [1].
