High-Energy Pulse Compression in the Mid-Wave Infrared

Abstract

We compress 45mJ, 2.4ps pulses of a 1kHz holmium laser emitting at 2.05m wavelength to 90fs duration in a stretched hollow-core fiber. The pulses comprise 20mJ energy at 20W average power, setting a new milestone.
