Abstract

We computationally investigated third-order nonlinear optical effects induced by plasmonic metasurfaces with sub-nm gaps. It has been clarified that the nonlinear effects are strongly enhanced by quantum tunneling andor overbarrier currents through the sub-nm gaps.
