Ultrastrong light matter interaction at the single element level

Abstract

The characterization of light-matter interactions at a single-element level is interesting in terms of uncovering theoretically predicted new states of matter and phase transitions.[1] When pushed even further down to a single electron limit, the gained insights could furthermore find applications in quantum information processing.
