Hands-on demonstrations and teaching tools for optics and adaptive optics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Demonstrations suitable for use in classrooms at the secondary, college, and graduate level and for museums and science centers were developed. Demonstrations show image formation, ray tracing, vision color sensitivity, and a Shack-Hartmann sensor. This paper shows these demonstrations, and how they can be used to promote understanding of optics principles in many applicable areas.
