Two-Photon Excitation of the Lowest g-States of Xe2*

Abstract

Applying two-photon excitation techniques we have studied atomic and molecular states in the energy region of the 5p56s configuration of Xe I. In this way, states can be selectively populated which cannot be reached by dipole transitions from the ground state.
