Abstract
Water-window soft X-ray emissions from polyethylene nanowire array targets irradiated by a 4 × 1019 W/cm2 femtosecond laser were experimentally characterized indicating more than one order of magnitude enhancement in conversion efficiency compared to that from plane targets.
