Mode decomposition for few-mode optical fiber ultilizing stochastic parallel gradient descent algorithm

Abstract

We have proposed a mode decomposition method by using stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) algorithm. The feasibility of the method is experimentally demonstrated by measuring one near-field intensity profile emerging from a few-mode fiber.
