Tunable Achromatic Circular Waveplates by Shifting Cascaded Metagratings

Abstract

We introduce the concept of displacement phase – a phase shift resulting from horizontal movements of a grating. We utilize this phenomenon to design a tunable achromatic circular waveplate from two topology-optimized geometric phase metagratings.
