Abstract

This paper reviews techniques for testing aspheric optical components. Specific approaches include: profilometry, interferometry (null and non-null configurations) and geometric ray tests. Although surface profilometry and geometric ray tests are covered, interferometry is the main thrust. This paper is an updated of a paper originally published in 1990.
