Abstract

The Canadian Light Source (CLS), Canada’s national facility for synchrotron light research, is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Scheduled to begin operation in January 2004, it represents Canada’s largest new scientific research facility in over 30 years. The design specifications for the CLS storage ring include an energy of 2.9 GeV, a current of 500 mA, a circumference of 171 m, and an RF frequency of 500 MHz.
