Abstract

The coupling of the high-resolution, step-scan FTS of the CFH Telescope to a HgCdTe array (1 - 2.5 μm) has been realized to exploit the concept of imaging FTS in astronomy. Among various astronomical targets which can benefit from spectro-imagery, a selection of young planetary nebulae has been studied. Four typical sources were observed in the 2-μm region, bringing new results on the structure of the ionized region and of the molecular envelope, which are analyzed as a function of evolution.
