Retrieving a High Resolution Spectrum from a Moving Target in an Imaging FTS for Astronomy

Abstract

Motion estimation is used to align the frames resulting from an imaging FTS for astronomy scanning a moving target. An off-axis correction algorithm is then applied on the resulted spectrum to correct for the non uniform off-axis distortion. An undistorted spectrum with optimal resolution is recovered.
