Abstract

Aperture synthesis imaging technologies using direct detectors are discussed; one with multi-Fourier transform interferometry and another with intensity interferometry. Their applications are focused to future space terahertz astronomy. The multi-Fourier transform interferometry has been demonstrated in laboratory condition and astronomical test observations were conducted, whereas intensity interferometry is in early development phase. Nevertheless, both technologies will be useful for future space terahertz interferometry for high sensitivity and high angular resolution observations.
