Abstract

Methane is an important kind of greenhouse warming gases that influence the global climate change. The detailed diffusion of methane still remains highly uncertainty, therefore, it’s meaningful to develop effectively method to detect atmosphere methane. Different absorption LiDAR (DIAL) has ability that to acquire the methane profile concentration with high accuracy. However, the wavelength of methane DIAL signal is usually around 1645 nm, the detection efficiency in infrared range is low in detectors. In this research, we present a solution to improve SNR of the received signal through up conversion technology, which would improve accuracy of the retrieved methane concentration.
