New wave-based radiance analogs and their applications

Abstract

A family of representations for wave fields in free space, showing defining properties of the ray-based radiance, is presented. These representations are exactly conserved along rays. The two- and three-dimensional, partially coherent, scalar and vector cases are considered. Simple applications are discussed.
