Abstract
X-ray science and ultrafast science are beginning to come together due to several recent innovations in lasers and in electron accelerators. The new frontier field of ultrafast x-rays holds out the promise of eventually reaching unprecedented simultaneous space and time resolution, as well as high intensity x-ray lasers. I will describe some of the plans for research projects that utilize these tools. Some of these are under current investigation at the Stanford Sub-Picosecond Photon Source (SPPS).
