Abstract

We evaluated the healing response of aqueous drainage implants, used to reduce pressure in glaucoma, using optical coherence tomography with a handheld probe developed to facilitate in vivo imaging in rabbit eyes. OCT demonstrated the potential to visualize the development of fibrous encapsulation, tissue erosion, fibrin accumulation, and tube position.
