Abstract

We explore the behaviour of quantum dot active region semiconductor lasers under the influence of optical feedback. The quantum dot lasers are found to be more stable under optical feedback than the quantum well lasers although alpha = 1.6. This behaviour is associated with strong damping of the relaxation oscillations.
